Well I have installed over 10 locally and I will say it may last longer due to the fact it sounds better and is not as harsh, NOTE: Yes it is not as loud but this will help it last longer Uniden will not sell just the speaker after countless alternatives this was the best sounding. Replacement speaker for Uniden R3 and R1(SPEAKER ONLY) OEM Uniden speaker is .5W this is an upgraded 1W speaker Specs of this speaker are 1W 16Ohm 28MM With a standard JST 1.25 PH 2 Pin Connector see photo. It may fit other radar detectors but they need to be 16-24 OHM speaker and 28-30mm. And they may fit other detectors but always measure and double check.
