JPMorgan Chase & Co. has an opening for an Application Developer position in Newark, Delaware. Provide high quality technology solutions that address business needs by developing and maintaining applications within mature technology environments for the Investment Banks Securitized Products Group (Mortgage Backed Securities). Trading Business specifically trade entry and middle office functions. Will utilize mature (3rd or 4th Generation) programming methodologies and languages, and adhere to coding standards, procedures and techniques, while contributing to the technical code documentation. Create technical design recommendations for developing and integrating programs per written specifications. Examine applications to ensure adherence to Application Engineering guidelines, processes and procedures. Utilize multiple programming languages and software technologies to ensure applications are suitably fit for use and admissible for maintenance/upgrades. Test, modify, and implement application codes; make standard modifications to existing software applications and modules in accordance with high-level specifications, application support, and industry standards. Develop, deploy, and support large-scale distributed applications, in a mission-critical production environment. Utilize technical expertise in Core Java, J2EE, Spring Framework, Hibernate/Ibatis, SQL and financial products knowledge to build and maintain trading systems. Specific Requirements Employer will accept Masters degree in Computer Science or related technical field and 2 years of work experience in job offered or 2 years of work experience in a software engineer-related occupation. Experience must include: 1. Creating technical design recommendation for developing and integrating applications as per business requirements; 2. Expertise with Core Java, J2EE, Web Services, Spring, Hibernate/Ibatis, Enterprise integration technologies and financial products knowledge to build and maintain high performance trading systems; 3. Experience performing code reviews and quality checks, to ensure it meets the application engineering guidelines, processes, and procedures; 4. Testing, modifying and implementing application code, to existing software applications and modules in accordance with high-level specifications and industry standards; 5. Proficiency with PL/SQL and Unix scripts; 6. Rewriting/migrating critical legacy applications in utilizing latest industry standard J2EE technologies, frameworks and best practices; and, 7. Providing application support under strict SLAs by prioritizing, analyzing and resolving production issues.
