Precision's personnel are routinely involved with projects in power plants, refineries, energy plants and industrial facilities from coast to coast. We provide personnel for contract staffing, direct placement positions and managed resource programs.
Precision is currently recruiting for a Research and Development Technician in Newark, DE. This is a long term contract position expected to last a year or longer.
The work will focus on agrichemical formulations and process development for seed coating applications. The work will be primarily centered at the new laboratory location to be commissioned in November 2014 but will also include activities at currentlaboratory in Newark, DE. The new facility will house intermediate sized seed treatment equipment in which we will treat and distribute seeds for field trials, complete process development studies on development candidates, and complete process studies to improve existing and develop new processes.
Some of the specific position responsibilities include the following:
Treat seeds
Test treated seeds for handling attributes applying standardized protocols.
Package treated seeds for field trial distribution
Execute seed treatment experiments collaboratively with Principal Investigator to generate process data and supply laboratory samples to advance research programs:
o development seed treatment candidates
o existing seed treatment formulations process technologies
o new seed treatment formulations process technologies
Record, summarize and report data, both written and orally.
Apply formal protocols in order to document and transfer technology to research and commercial seed treatment applications teams.
Degree in Physical, Organic, or Biochemistry, Engineering Technology or in a core formulation/coating-related technologies
Experience handling and operating formulation processes of various types (e.g., pan or fluid bed granulation, seed coatings, packaging).
Experience effectively communicating data, report writing and supporting multiple projects.
Experience in thoroughly documenting and organizing all relevant results and related information.
Experience in managing relationships in a project team environment and effectively communicating technical and non-technical information.
Experience in corporate Safety, Health, and Environmental principles, practices, and resources.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
