PDS is seeking a Technical Writer 3 for an open position in Newark, DE.
In your role, you will:
Represent Systems Product Labeling on new product core team to develop functional specifications for R&D engineers and event messaging content for customers.
Work with Project Managers to develop resource requirements and schedules.
Assist lead writer f as necessary to support core team assignments.
Manage the document development process by obtaining document numbers, gathering technical data, working with cross-functional team members and SMEs, and using various authoring tools.
Manage the document review process by obtaining editor and reviewer feedback, holding content review sessions, incorporating suggested changes, finalizing content for release, and loading content to the document management system.
Ensure all documentation meets regulatory and customer requirements.
Work with translations coordinator or translation vendor, as required, to comply with content localization processes.
Complete training for Company procedures, regulatory requirements, and on clinical chemistry instruments, as required.
Develop complex technical documentation, including functional specifications, operator guides, online help, quick reference guides, startup guides, release notes, and other technical publications using document templates and style guides.
Work with SMEs to obtain necessary technical and engineering information, drawings, software and hardware specifications, product prototypes, and simulator software.
Complete all phases of the document lifecycle including content development, review, approval, and release. May develop, recommend, and implement technical documentation process changes.
As our ideal candidate, you will meet the following requirements:
BS/BA in related discipline, or advanced degree (where required), or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Demonstrates and applies a broad knowledge of field of specialization through successful completion of complex assignments.
Demonstrates experience in creating functional specifications and working with R&D teams, in developing usability content for software interfaces, developing customer facing content within the healthcare diagnostics industry.
Takes initiative to acquire product knowledge and gather necessary information to support content development.
Work
Experience:
At least 5-8 years of successful experience in related field and demonstration of Key Responsibilities and Knowledge described above.
Advanced degree MAY be substituted for experience (discretion of hiring manager).
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and
Experience:
Understands commercial and regulatory documentation and labeling requirements for clinical chemistry instruments.
Experience authoring functional specifications.
Experience authoring procedures for software interfaces or products for a global audience.
Frame Maker 8.0 or higher ( experience with structured authoring tools & XML).
InDesign CS4 or higher
MS Office Suite & Adobe products.
