Laboratory Technician needed for a contract opportunity with Yoh's client located in Newark, DE. The Big Picture - Top Skills You Should Possess: - The person should be able to work under sterile conditions, and do basic calculations and formulations. - Prior experience with the Bacterial Reverse Mutation Test (Ames test) highly desirable. - B.S. in biology or related field with relevant experience in genetic toxicology and/or microbiology including skills such as working with biosafety cabinets, incubators, centrifuges, pipettors and general laboratory equipment. What You'll Be Doing: - With guidance from supervision, primary responsibility is to assist technical personnel in general laboratory operations and routine laboratory or information handling tasks in support of scientific research. Perform tasks according to accepted methods and training prescribed by the work group. What You Need to Bring to the Table: - Additional experience with mammalian tissue culture, including skills such as evaluating common cell types microscopically for chromosomal aberrations, viability, general morphology and micronuclei, is considered an advantage. - The successful candidate will be expected to conduct GLP, non-GLP and Discovery genetic toxicology in vitro assays. - The person will also be expected to compose SOPs, present data and discuss changes in laboratory procedures in a clear and concise manner.
