What is the Job all About? DNA Data Analyst Newark, DE The DNA Data Analysts supports Biolog's Lab Services division by quality control of Sanger sequencing data, creating identification reports for both DNA sequencing and MALDI-TOF, enumeration services, gram stains, and other reports as needed.
The DNA Data Analyst will have a strong microbiology background, knowledge in microbial genetics, and/or data QC experience.
The role has some customer-facing responsibilities, with contact through phone and emails regarding sample processing and report interpretation.
Responsibilities:
Evaluates DNA sequencing sample data, forms identification conclusions, generates and signs/verifies reports Evaluates MALDI-TOF sample data, forms identification conclusions, generates and signs/verifies reports Assembly of raw Sanger sequence data into consensus sequence data using DNA assembly software Performs standard microbiology procedures requiring sample handling Follows all Quality System Procedures to analyze samples while adhering to cGxP principles and ISO 17025 regulatory requirements Communicates with Customers regarding sample processing and report interpretation; escalates Customer inquiries outside of this scope to management as needed Other duties as assigned to meet business needs Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Life Science or Biotechnology Technical knowledge in laboratory functions and services, including microbiology lab techniques and DNA sequencing.
Knowledge of MS Office products Experience with ISO 17025 (preferable) or ISO 9002 lab environment Attention to detail Effective communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload Self-starter with excellent time management skills, capable of working well within a team Additional Information:
