Chemical Engineer
Job Description Job Title:
Chemical Engineer This individual must be a self-motivated, problem-solver and energetic scientific engineer.
This is a full-time exempt position that is entry-level in the R&D department based at our headquarter office located in Newark, Delaware.
Requirements:
B.
S.
degree in Chemical Engineering.
1-2 years process engineering experience preferred, but not required.
Strong problem-solving abilities to come up with creative solutions.
Manufacturing or scale-up experience ideal.
Experience assembling and working with Swagelok fluid system connections.
Experience assembling and working with heat-traced lines.
Ability and interest in working with and setting up equipment for pilot operations.
Ability and interest in working in a hands-on environment with all levels of staff.
Excellent communication skills along with attention to deal and confidentiality.
Responsibilities:
Interpret data from laboratory experiments and provide engineering support to carry laboratory scale technology through pilot scale processes.
Troubleshoot equipment/process issues and work with researchers to execute experiments.
Participate in the establishment of essential engineering parameters for the start-up of pilot operations.
Identify bottlenecks and hurdles in a process and propose operational or equipment modifications to improve output.
Function as a key member of project teams to introduce new products into production.
Evaluate chemistry hazards and guide the interpretation leading to safe operating conditions.
Collaborate with external research partners to supplement internal experimental programs.
Performance of general housekeeping maintenance in the laboratory and cleanliness in work areas.
Observe safety precautions as outlined in safety manuals and training.
