The Helen F Graham Cancer Center & Research Institute (HFGCCRI) at ChristianaCare located in Newark, Delaware has a full-time opportunity for a BC/BE fellowship trained Hematologist focusing on liquid cancers to join a busy, well-established practice of five Hematologists. The group has a specialization in patients diagnosed with blood disorders, thrombosis and blood cancers that include leukemia, Non-Hodgkin and Hodgkin lymphoma, and multiple myeloma. The program is well rooted in the community with a strong referral base and anticipates continued growth in both clinical services and research working out of HFGCCRI. In addition to direct patient care, the hematologists are very integrated in the laboratory services at ChristianaCare with leadership positions overseeing sections such as hematology and transfusion medicine. The HFGCCRI, a National Cancer Institute Community Oncology Research Program, is part of ChristianaCare, one of the country's largest health care systems, with 52,339 admissions, 37,634 surgeries, and 195,998 emergency department visits. With more than 248,000 patient visits, The Graham Cancer Center is recognized as a national model for multidisciplinary cancer care and a top enroller in U.S. clinical research trials (29% accrual rate). Annually there are 3,266 newly diagnosed cancer patients. Its Cawley Center for Translational Cancer Research, Tissue Procurement Center, Gene Editing Institute and Statewide High-Risk Family Cancer Registry with eight full time genetic counselors, and collaborations with world- renowned scientists at The Wistar Institute in Philadelphia, are all opening new avenues to more quickly translate cancer science into cancer medicine! The 240,000 sq. foot outpatient cancer center has 12 multidisciplinary disease site centers allowing patients to see three disciplines of surgical, medical and radiation oncology, including subspecialists and support service teams in one visit.
